The Irish Building and Design Awards 2016 – Jones Engineering Group wins again!

1

The winners of the 2016 Irish Building and Design Awards were announced recently at a black tie ceremony held in the Ballsbridge Hotel, Dublin. More than 500 people from the world of Architecture, Engineering, Construction and Design attended the biggest annual awards ceremony in the industry, to recognise and acknowledge the best in Ireland’s Building & Design projects over the last 12 months.

The 2016 judging panel consisted of some of the leading professionals in their fields, and they worked tirelessly to review what turned out to be the largest number of applications received by the event since it started six years ago. The ceremony opened with a video showcasing some of the best Irish Building and Design Projects this year, and the event was then introduced by Marty Whelan, arguably Ireland’s favourite broadcaster, who was also the MC for the evening. After a wonderful dinner, the awards presentations started.

We were delighted to be announced as M&E Contractor of the year, beating out some stiff competition in the category. Conor Walsh from Safegard Systems presented us with the trophy on the night.

The final award of the night was the much anticipated Business Leadership Award. This is a highly prestigious award with the nominees chosen in secret by the judges.

In the words of Marty Whelan it is “ . . .given to someone who has shown business leadership over a sustained period of time in an often turbulent industry and a highly competitive business environment. This IBDA Award is given in recognition of outstanding leadership, consistency in management, vision and strategy and awarded to a person highly committed to their organisation, their people and their industry.”

A huge congratulations to our CEO Jim Curley who was presented with this prestigious award on the night by Tony Cantwell, Managing Director of Commercial Media Group.
