Company Activity

At Jones, we recognise the growing awareness around the demand for responsible business behaviour with issues relating to sustainability, ethics and respect for all of our stakeholders. We are extremely passionate about culture, diversity and inclusiveness in the workplace and recognise the impacts that they have on both their environment and the society in which they operate.

Three reasons to join our team

We are a leading mechanical, electrical and fire protection contractor operating throughout Ireland, the United Kingdom, Europe and the Middle East.

Did you know that we also offer a complete range of engineering services? These include Offsite Fabrication, Modular Manufacturing, Specialist Rigging, Maintenance, TSS (Technical Support Solutions), Geo Surveying, CompEx Training and BioEnergy.

We have grown sustainably in both size and reputation, becoming a business with a turnover of €960m+ and resources of over 4,200 people worldwide. Our core value is the delivery of engineering through people, and the breadth of our team is unrivalled. Recruiting, nurturing and developing the best talent has been a cornerstone of the Group’s development.

So, if you are ready to take the next step in your career, here are three reasons why Jones Engineering is the company for you.

Unlimited Possibilities

What’s the view from your office? Can you see the Northern Lights in Sweden or the tunnels under Riyadh in Saudi Arabia? Jones Engineering projects are based around the globe, giving employees the chance to work in extreme locations from Arctic conditions reaching sub-zero temperatures of -40°, to extreme heat environments reaching temperatures of +50°. From offshore oil rigs prone to 100 mph winds and 80 ft wave surges to tunnelling under rivers and cities. The possibilities are limitless.

Community focused

We have a tradition and culture of encouraging cooperation and partnership with our clients and within the local community. We sponsor local teams and run charity events throughout the year, and support and contribute to industry and community events.

Our commitment to education and training encompasses inspiring the next generation. For years Jones employees have been involved in the STEAM Engineering-in-a-Box programme, inspiring primary school children through fun and engaging learning. Through this connection, Jones became a sponsor of the ESB Science Blast at its inception in 2019 and have continued this support throughout the pandemic. Science Blast is a non-competitive STEM education programme for primary school classes across the island of Ireland. This year, the Jones Manufacturing Team is also working with Transition year students on their F1 in Schools Ireland entry in project planning, car design, and the marketing plan.

One of our recent European initiatives involved engaging with The Swedish Red Cross to donate and install additional Air Conditioning to their Offices and Store in Lulea.

Learning and Development

In Jones Engineering, our most important asset is our people. People are at the core of our best practice initiative, which is why we are committed to the continuous training of all our employees.

We have specially designed training programmes for graduates, mechanical and electrical engineers, quantity surveyors and accountancy professionals.

The Jones Engineering graduate and engineering programmes are aligned with Engineers Ireland (EI) Continuous Professional Development (CPD). As the first contractor in Ireland to gain accreditation with EI, we actively encourage and support all engineering staff to become members and progress towards chartered status.

As part of our CPD strategy, engineering and non-engineering staff are strongly encouraged to participate in the following CPD learning and development sessions;

– Engineering development days
– Regular development reviews
– Lunch’n Learn sessions
– Internal training courses including Presentations skills and Negotiation skills
– External training courses

Jones Engineering offers candidates the tools and experience internally to enhance their skills and develop their careers. Externally, we provide financial support through the payment of annual subscription fees for membership of a relevant professional body and/or relevant 3rd level education and course fees.
