UCC Tyndall Institute
We have a long standing relationship with University College Cork and have completed numerous projects there over the years. Jones Engineering have provided mechanical, electrical and fire protection services to the University. Among the more noteworthy projects at UCC that we have been involved in are the Bioscience Building, the Postgraduate Library and the School of Pharmacy.
We completed the mechanical and electrical services to the UCC Tyndall Institute Building. The project was designed with extensive use of recycled energy through sensor based lighting systems and design of facades. The Tyndall Institute is one of Europe’s leading research centres. The building includes 5600sqm of laboratory space over 3 floors, with the ground floor housing clean rooms. A sub-fab basement extends below the water table on site. An Atrium links the labs building to the existing Maltings “listed” building.
