BREEAM is the leading and most widely used environmental assessment method for buildings. It sets the standard for best practice in sustainable design and has become the de facto measure used to describe a building’s environmental performance. We have a number of internal BREEAM specialists who have advised on all our BREEAM projects to date. The majority of these have achieved Excellent and Outstanding ratings and some of our projects have been nominated for a BREEAM awards.
‘Nearly Zero Energy Buildings’ means a building that has a very high energy performance. The very low amount or nearly zero energy required comes mostly from renewable sources, produced on-site or nearby. Sustainable design is a high priority at Jones Engineering. We provide the latest thinking in deep green engineering and strive to achieve near Zero Energy Building status while still maintaining the wellbeing of the building occupants.
LEED is an internationally recognised green building certification system, providing 3rd party verification using strategies aimed at improving performance across all the metrics that matter most: energy savings, water efficiency, CO2 emissions reduction. Bringing a project through the rigorous LEED certification process challenges us to seek outside-the-box solutions, something we welcome and encourage. The majority of our projects have achieved Platinum which is the highest possible rating.
The trend to feature exposed services has become increasingly popular over the last few years. With an exposed installation it is vital to ensure every cable tray and duct run is installed perfectly as it will be on view for all to see. It is the skills and expertise of our Mechanical and Electrical Engineers that helps to bring this impactful effect to life and ensures the end results are of the highest quality.
