Derby AD plant gets the green light

Last year, following a competitive tender process, Jones Celtic BioEnergy (JCBE) was awarded a contract to design, build and commission an advanced anaerobic digestion (AD) facility for Severn Trent Green Power. This facility is designed to process up to 48,500 tonnes of food waste per year. We believe sustainable goals can serve as a catalyst for a continuous cycle of improvement which is why we take our role in environmental planning so seriously. This project will be designed, built and managed in line with our internationally recognised environmental, quality and health and safety procedures. Once this project has completed its final commissioning phase the biogas it produces will be predominantly upgraded to the quality standards required for injection into the National Grid.

Severn Trent has now secured an environmental permit for this project.
