Apprenticeships

Adam joined our team in 2008 as an Apprentice Electrician. On completion of his apprenticeship in 2013, Adam left to spend a few years travelling. When he returned to Ireland in 2016, he rejoined Jones Engineering. Adam has recently gained a Higher Certificate in Electrical Services Engineering from Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT) and is due to start the B.Eng. Tech Electrical Services Engineering course this year in DIT Kevin Street on a part-time basis.

Jones Engineering are the largest trainer of construction apprentices in Ireland with 250+ apprentices in our employment annually. We offer apprenticeships in Electrical, Electrical & Instrumentation, Plumbing and Pipefitting. Our apprentices are based on projects throughout Ireland, predominately in the Munster and Leinster regions.

To complement the SOLAS Standards Based Apprenticeship Scheme we offer our apprentices supplementary training over the course of four years. We also encourage our apprentices to enter competitions such as Ireland Skills and Generation A. We are proud to say we have had two gold medal winners in the World Skills competition and one bronze medal winner in the Ireland Skills competition. Such competitions require skill and determination and we encourage and mentor our apprentices to become the best in their field.

Jones Engineering Apprentices Requirements

• Minimum of four passes at leaving certificate level (must include Mathematics)
• Successfully pass the Ishihara Colour Vision Test
• Valid manual handling and safepass certificates

Graduates

Anita began her journey with Jones Engineering as a graduate in early 2018. Anita has completed her F1 and F3 exams and is currently studying for the ACCA which will provide her with an internationally recognised qualification. Anita is a valued member of our financial team and is currently working in accounts receivable.

Graduate programs in mechanical and electrical engineering, quantity surveying and accountancy.

Our M&E programs have been developed and are aligned with Engineers Ireland Continuous Professional Development (CPD). First contractor to gain accreditation with EI and we actively encourage and support all graduates to become members and progress towards Chartered status. Over the course of 4-5 years we provide our graduates with the tools and experience to enhance their skills and develop their careers.

Our QS graduate program has been developed by our in-house M&E surveying teams leading to the achievement of Chartered status and full membership of the Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland (SCSI) and the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS). Our Graduate Finance program supports employees in the pursuit of a professional qualification such as ACCA. We offer candidates a training contract which incorporates the fees for the professional examinations and also paid study and exam leave. Throughout the course of their employment candidates gain experience in all aspects of accountancy with the added benefit of exposure to overseas markets. Candidates with a 2nd or 3rd level qualifications can apply for our Accountancy program.

Experienced Professionals

Luiza joined our team in early 2018 as a planner. She studied Engineering as her primary degree in Brazil and is now specialising in planning and control of large construction projects. Luiza is a valued member of Jones Engineering and is currently working on the New Children’s Hospital project.
