Fire Protection
Our Fire Protection Division was established in 1965 and continues to deliver bespoke solutions for our clients across all industry sectors. All of our systems are designed in-house by our team of Sprinkler Design Engineers. We hold LPCB 1048 Level 4 Certification which is the highest level of approval in the scheme. This permits us to self-certify our works to all categories of sprinkler works without supervision.
Our teams are highly trained and experienced with the design, supply and installation of water supplies. Every sprinkler system requires at least one automatic water supply of adequate pressure, capacity, and reliability. The water supply needs to be capable of supplying all sprinklers that operate during a fire and providing water for fire department operations during the fire. These include:
- Sprinkler Storage Tanks, Cylindrical, Rectangular, Sectional GRP
- Diesel and Electrical Sprinkler Pumps
- Prefabricated Modular Pump Houses
Our team is highly experienced with Active Fire Protection (AFP) Systems, characterized by items and/or systems, which require a certain amount of motion and response in order to work. The AFP Systems we typically design and install include:
- Fire Hydrant Mains
- Wet Sprinkler Systems
- PreAction Sprinkler Systems
- Dry Sprinkler Systems
- Deluge Sprayer Systems
- Foam Deluge Pouring Systems
- Domestic & Residential Sprinkler Systems
- Gas Suppression Systems
- High & Low Pressure Mist Systems
- Wet & Dry Risers
- Fire Hose Reels
- Fire Extinguishers
We provide our clients with a Single Source Maintenance and Asset Care Solution for their facilities, covering all aspects of Mechanical, Electrical, Fire Protection, Heavy Lifting and Instrumentation. We operate a nationwide service using a centralised management system with a 24 hour help desk. We have a portfolio of over 500 clients in a variety of market sectors including:
- Healthcare
- Public Sector
- Food & Beverage
- Power & Energy
- Manufacturing
- Life Science
- Electronic
We deliver robust design through consultation with our clients on the design brief for many international and commercial standards such as, NFPA, FM Global, EN 12845, VDS and XL Caitlin. Our teams utilise REVIT for production of models in the 3D Environment and use detailed Hydraulic Calculation software. This allows us to determine pressure losses, water velocities and sprinkler head discharge rates on our systems. We also use Navis Works for utilisation in the field and to aid collaboration. On projects that do not require 3D modelling we use AutoCAD.
Our teams implement the Sprinkler System Design in the field utilising Safety Management Systems with accreditation to Safe T, and a proactive safety department that leverages our extensive project experience. We are accredited to ISO 9001 and IS0 14001 which allows us to drive our robust quality and environmental process. Our Key Management Team have the relevant Project Management certification and training. They are familiar with using scheduling software such as Primavera and Microsoft Project for project planning and resource allocation as well as SAP for procurement and financial control.
All of our systems are designed inhouse by our team of Sprinkler Design Engineers. We hold LPCB 1048 Level 4 Certification since 1997 which is the highest level of approval in the LPCB 1048 certification scheme. This permits us to self-certify our works to all categories of sprinkler works without supervision. The scheme reviews our processes and audits our works yearly to validate our continued alignment with the standards required. It inspects, accredits, approves and certifies sprinkler / fire protection companies throughout Europe to ensure that they have the appropriate level of technical competency, both in design and installation.
The following are some more of the standards we are accredited to and familiar with:
- NFPA (National Fire Protection Association)
- FM Global
- BA 9251 Sprinkler Systems for domestic & residential occupancies
- EN 12845 Fixed Firefighting Systems. Automatic Sprinkler Systems
- BS EN 12845 including Technical Bulletins
- BS 9990 Non automatic firefighting systems in buildings
- IS 291:2015 Fire Extinguishers
