At Jones, we recognise the growing awareness around the demand for responsible business behaviour with issues relating to sustainability, ethics and respect for all of our stakeholders. We are extremely passionate about culture, diversity and inclusiveness in the workplace and recognise the impacts that they have on both their environment and the society in which they operate.
Huge congratulations to Jamie Bermingham who was awarded the winners medal last night at the World Skills Ireland Plumbing and Heating Final. Jamie has been working extremely hard displaying his Plumbing and Heating Skills in the RDS over the past week representing Jones Engineering.
“Absolutely thrilled to be where I am today, that week in the RDS was one of the most challenging weeks in my career so far but it was worth every second.”
World Skills Ireland is a competition that exhibits the prestigious talent of apprentices and reinforces the view that apprenticeships are a great career path for many students. World Skills Ireland works to create a greater acknowledgement of skills and apprenticeships and prepares the talent of today for the careers of the future. At Jones Engineering we are very proud to promote apprenticeships and have a longstanding history of training apprentices. We have been taking part in World Skills since the 80s and are only company to have won the gold medal twice in the plumbing category of the International Skills competition. Simon Watson Team Development was the International Skills Olympics gold medal winner in 1989 and is still working at Jones Engineering supporting our apprentices today.
Thanks to all who attended World Skills Ireland at the RDS this week and visited our stand. It was great to chat to some eager students about our apprenticeship program. If you didn’t get a chance to attend world skills, take a look at our apprenticeship opportunities below.
