Jones Engineering Sponsors Ireland Wheelchair Rugby League National Team’s World Cup Campaign
We’re honoured to share that Jones Engineering are the official partners of the Ireland Wheelchair Rugby League national team as they venture to the Rugby League World Cup in Australia.
Currently ranked third in the world, the Ireland team are familiar with victory, having recently retained the Celtic Cup in Scotland.
The Wheelchair Rugby League is played on a 40mx20m court and is highly physical and fast paced. The teams are mixed gendered, making it more accessible and inclusive, and as the popularity of the sport climbs, this is an important factor.
Members of our staff accompanied the Ireland team to the Australian embassy to send them off and celebrate this incredible accomplishment. Stephen Anderson, Director, Carmel Walsh, Chief People Officer, and Sarah O’Dea, Sustainability Graduate, spent the evening chatting with the team, discussing game strategies and what they were looking forward to in Australia.
The World Cup will commence on Friday 30th of October with the Ireland team opening the competition with a match against the USA. You can stream their matches live on Premier Sports.
